Dr Victor Kigonya is the General Surgeon at Kibuli Muslim Hospital as department head. He is enthusiastic about new solutions and believes there are many unexplored opportunities in the health sector of the developing world.

His medical training started at Gulu University for a Bachelor’s of Medicine and Surgery, then had specialist training in Surgery – at the College of Health Sciences Makerere University, Uganda. He also holds a Certificate in Basics of Laparoscopic Surgery and a Postgraduate Diploma in project planning and management from Uganda Management Institute.

In 2012, he had his first placement as medical officer at a mission 50 bed hospital where he also served as a deputy medical director. One year later he transferred to another but bigger mission 200 hospital to continue work as a medical officer. He then enrolled for specialist training. Through the experience and better grasp of ideas, the knack for offering better health services to the community grew stronger.

He is a founder member and serving as the Chief Executive Officer to Express Health Uganda a company specialising in wellbeing at the workplace. He is also an active practicing Surgeon with special interest in emergencies, trauma, minimally invasive surgery and research. Through national and international collaborations with Express Health, individuals at the workplace should be equipped with the necessary positive health mind set.

He enjoys sharing knowledge, sports, reading and interacting with nature.
